Read Our Big Backyard Spring 2023

Jul 27, 2023

Sometimes it's something small that sets off something big. Metro regularly buys small additions to its natural areas multiple times a year. These are important but not flashy purchases that add a little bit here and there to the land Metro protects thanks to voters choosing to invest in nature.

At first it seemed like this was the case with the little 3.67-acre plot that Metro recently purchased. But this little piece of land right on the Clackamas-Washington county border near Wilsonville was the link that connected 350 acres of natural area into one continuous wildlife corridor.

Read more about the big impact this little property is having on the region. And find out how you can shape parks and nature projects in Washington County. (Hint: you can vote for your favorite projects later this year!)
